SEND Parent & Carer Coffee Mornings

Are you a parent or carer of a child with additional needs? Feeling unsure about coming along? That’s completely okay — many people feel the same before their first visit.

We know how tough and emotional the SEND journey can be, and how lonely it can feel at times. Our SEND Parent & Carer Coffee Mornings offer a relaxed, friendly space where you can chat, share experiences, or simply enjoy a cuppa with people who truly understand. Whether you’re just starting your SEND journey or have been navigating the system for some time, these sessions offer a chance to feel heard, supported, and less alone — with no pressure to talk or share unless you want to.

There’s no expectation to talk, share your story, or stay for the whole session. You’re welcome to pop in, sit quietly, and take things at your own pace. Everyone who attends understands how overwhelming the SEND journey can be, and you’ll be met with warmth and understanding, never judgement.

Alongside our general support sessions, we also run focused coffee mornings covering specific SEND-related topics such as reasonable adjustments, SEND reforms, requesting EHCPs, and more. Details of upcoming themed sessions can be found on our Facebook page @clearstepspluseducation.

Alicia and Karen, Directors of Clear Steps Plus, attend every session. With personal experience as both parents and professionals, they understand the challenges families face and are available to listen, offer advice, or provide support with whatever you and your child are currently navigating — if and when it feels helpful.

Tea, coffee, and light refreshments are provided, and the atmosphere is calm, welcoming, and supportive.

You don’t need to have a child attending Clear Steps Plus to come along — all parents and carers are very welcome.
